This series was made of 16.66 grams of .720 fineness silver. There were no 1 Peso coins minted in 1946, and when they returned in 1947, the fineness had decreased to .500.<br>Front/Obverse: The obverse has a tableau of a golden eagle perched on a cactus, a serpent grasped in beak and right talon. The area below the cactus has an oak branch and an olive branch, symbolizing accomplishments in war and peace, respectively. The 0.720 purity of the coin is split by the eagle's head.<br>Rear/Reverse: The reverse is dominated by the Liberty Cap at the top of the coin, rays of light shooting in all directions, and traveling down to the midpoint of the coin. The bottom edge of the reverse mirrors the bottom of the obverse, but to a larger extent. The branches of oak and olive run up either side past the midpoint.
